AGA–Ironwood Fellowship-to-Faculty Transition Award

The AGA–Ironwood Fellowship-to-Faculty Transition Award from the AGA Research Foundation facilitates the transition of postdoctoral or clinical fellows to independent research careers. The fellowship provides clinical or postdoctoral fellows seeking to protect time for clinical or translational research in preparation for careers as independent investigators in gastroenterology, hepatology, pancreatology, or closely allied fields.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold MD, Ph.D., or equivalent degrees and be based in the USA, Canada, or Mexico. Applicants must be members of AGA. Female investigators and underrepresented researchers are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Clinical fellows must be in the final year of fellowship training or those in the year following the end of their fellowship training at the time of application.
  • Postdoctoral fellows must have at least four years and fewer than six years of postdoctoral research at the time of application and be actively preparing to seek faculty positions before this award concludes.
