Travel Grants for Early-Career Scientists

Hurry Up!! The ECCMID TAE Research Bites travel grant supports ESCMID Young Scientist members from LIMCs who wish to attend the 33rd ECCMID in Copenhagen and present abstracts at the TAE Research Bites session.

ESCMID Young Scientist members from LIMCs (35 years of age or younger), who wish to attend the 33rd ECCMID in Copenhagen and present abstracts at the TAE Research Bites session may apply for support. Abstracts are evaluated by TAE/SAS committee, and on this basis, up to two abstracts with the highest scores are offered free registration and EUR 500 travel allowance.

Eligibility

  • TAE Research Bites travel grants will be offered to the presenting authors of the Research Bites abstracts from LIMCs. The applicant must be the presenting author of a TAE Research Bites abstract submitted for the 33rd ECCMID, who holds ESCMID Young Scientist membership (35 years of age or younger).

Benefits

  • Two TAE Research Bites travel grants include full registration to the Congress and a travel allowance amounting to EUR 500 (paid in cash onsite against the presentation of an identity card or passport).

Application Process

  • Applications for TAE Research Bites travel grants are accepted from 17 October until 16 November 2022.
  • Application for a TAE Research Bites travel grant must be indicated during the Research Bites abstract submission process. The presenting author is the one who is eligible for the grant and needs to upload the PDF proof of residence in LMIC (enrolments in the study, rent or electricity bill, etc).
  • In the case of multiple travel grant applications being made for one presenting author, the highest-rated abstract will be the one that is counted.
  • Grant outcome notifications will be sent in early November of 2022.
  • Important: abstracts submitted but not accepted for the TAE Research Bites will be considered and reviewed with the ECCMID 2023 Regular abstracts. Authors applying for the TAE Research Bites are entitled to apply for the other ECCMID travel grants.
