The Mission of the Scholarships Fund is to perpetuate Sara’s ideals by providing financial support for humanitarian work around the world for young women who share Sara’s zest for life, love of adventure, and zeal to excel.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for Scholarships Fund, a past SWF scholarship recipient must be engaged in a well-established humanitarian initiative in the global community. (This initiative does not need to be the same one as when the first scholarship was awarded.) Successful applicants must also:
- Demonstrate a proven track record of effective programming for a humanitarian organization or cause in the global community,
- Demonstrate a firm, ongoing commitment to travel and personal safety.
- Demonstrate substantial needs within the non-profit organization for SWF funding.
Successful applicants will also be able to demonstrate a deep and sustained commitment to Sara’s Wish Foundation, and a willingness to continue to work with Sara’s Wish Foundation in its ongoing efforts to improve safety awareness both here in the United States and across the globe.
Requests for funding must include:
A well-documented, justified need for funding to support the particular humanitarian initiative (e.g., for staffing, equipment, educational materials, training programs, supplies, internships, travel, etc.)
These awards are granted yearly.
Benefits
- Financial assistance to 175 young women who exhibited qualities of leadership, service, and adventure. With our financial contributions, these women have been able to cover costs associated with traveling to all areas of the globe.
