ASECS - Paula Backscheider Archival Fellowship

The American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies is the foremost learned society in the United States for the study of all aspects of the period from the later seventeenth through the early nineteenth century. Its members are literary scholars and writers, historians, theorists of gender, race, sexuality, disability, nation and empire; philosophers and political theorists; art historians and artists; musicologists and musicians; theater historians and practitioners; biographers and bibliographers; and specialists in other humanistic, artistic, and social scientific fields with a range of broad and more particular interests. It is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment in which all members participate fully in the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

The purpose of ASECS – Paula Backscheider Archival Fellowship is to support those researchers whose projects necessitate work in archives, repositories, and special collections (public and private) in foreign countries and/or in the United States.

  • Travel Fellowship – $1000

Application Process

  • Applicants should submit only one application and will be considered for every grant for which they are eligible.   All application materials and letters of recommendation must be received by 1 January 2020
  • All completed applications must include:

    •  Curriculum vitae
    • Narrative description of the project, its contribution to the field, how much you will have completed by the time of the proposed fellowship, and your plan for using the time of the fellowship
    • A one-page bibliography
    • A budget
  • Combine the four supporting documents into a single file (Word or .pdf) and send them to the ASECS Business Office at asecsoffice@gmail.com
  • Two letters of recommendation, to be sent by the recommenders directly to the ASECS Business Office at asecsoffice@gmail.com

 

​Note: No applicant may accept more than one ASECS travel grant or fellowship in any given academic year.

SEEDS is working for the destitute children in Churachandpur,Manipur, India. I wish to take 150 destitutes girls and boys to Zoo and important historical places in Assam.I am looking financial support from any sympathisers to enable the target group to smile.
