Division of Computational Physics: Travel Awards april

Division of Computational Physics Travel Awards is for the students and postdocs who are presenting a talk in a DCOMP-sponsored or co-sponsored session at the APS April Meeting. They are invited to apply for a DCOMP Travel Award where they can have the chance to be part of the meeting. At the same time, this is a great opportunity for them to win the grant of travel awards.

The travel grant will be received by any students or postdoc who will present an invited talk at a DCOMP-sponsored or co-sponsored session applying for it. The application is required for the students or postdocs who are going to present contributed talks. The application requires a letter of support from their research advisor.

Eligibility

  • Any student or postdoc presenting an invited talk at a DCOMP

Benefits

  • Travel reimbursement of up to $500

Application process: 

  • Invited speakers should send an email with the title of the talk and the name of the focus session or symposium in which the talk will be presented
  • Contributing speakers should send an email with the title of the talk, the sorting category to which the abstract was submitted, and the name of the applicant’s research advisor
  • Contributing speakers must also arrange for their advisor to send a letter of support. The letter must indicate that this is the only member of the research group applying for the travel award

These materials should be emailed to then Vice Chair of DCOMP, Jack Wells, wellsjc@ornl.gov, with the subject heading, DCOMP Travel Award (April)Meeting (applicant’s last name).

Note:

Only one award per research group is allowed. Selection of recipients will be made by a subcommittee of the DCOMP executive committee based on the merit of the application.
