The Research Fellowship in Biomedicine provides a unique opportunity for early-career researchers to advance their careers in the field of biomedicine. Eligibility

At the time of application, candidates must be holders of a Master’s degree in the scientific field of Management, Economics, Social Psychology or related scientific fields, and be enrolled or present proof of meeting the requirements to be enrolled in a doctoral program in the referred scientific areas.



Additional mandatory requirements:

  • Strong motivation and enthusiasm for research work and academic projects;
  • Strong quantitative skills;
  • Excellent command of the Portuguese and English language;

  • Ability to work in a Team and in an organized and autonomous way;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Work in an international environment;
  • Good domain in software tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) and statistical packages (SPSS and STATA) as well as a deep knowledge of online survey systems (e.g. Qualtrics);
  • Research interest and research experience in the field of sustainability will be valued;
  • A preference will be given to individuals with experience as a research assistant in behavioral laboratory.

  • The fellowship’s maintenance allowance is 1.199,64 € per month, according to the table of values of the grants awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the Country. The fellowship will be paid monthly by bank transfer. The fellowship holder will be covered by personal accident insurance.

MISF Du Pré Grants 2023 For Multiple Sclerosis Researchers From Developing Countries aim is to encourage cross-fertilization of skills through collaborative research projects.

MISF offers Du Pré Grants to MS researchers from emerging countries to enable them to make short visits to established MS research centers outside their own country, either to learn from each other or to carry out parts of joint research projects.

Eligibility

To be eligible for MISF Du Pré Grants 2023 candidates must:

  • Be educated to post-graduate level (at least MSc, but preferably Ph.D./MD) in an area relevant to multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Be citizens of a low- or middle-income country (all countries with a low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income as defined by the World Bank)
  • Focus their research proposal on an area relevant to multiple sclerosis

Candidates must also be in one of the following situations:

  • Working or studying in a low- or middle-income country (all countries with a low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income as defined by the World Bank) at the time of nomination
  • Working or studying in another country on a project which started within six months before the nomination
  • Studying in another country on a project supported by an MS International Federation grant

What are Travel grants?

Benefits

  • Each grant is likely to be between UK £2,000 and £4,000, to a maximum of £5,000. The funds are intended to go towards travel and living costs or to top up an existing grant to extend a visit.

  • Applicant completes all sections of the online application form here.
  • Identify your project and field of interest.
  • Contact and agree on a project proposal with a host (project supervisor in a lab or clinic).
  • If you do not have a host, contact the research team for advice as soon as possible.

Travel reimbursements

  • All reimbursements in connection with the grant must be settled via AURUS (Aarhus University Travel and Expense Claim System).

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for Biochemical Society’s General Travel Grants applicants must:

  • Need to have been a member for at least 12 months prior to the deadline on the closing date of the round applied to. If you are not a member, join today. Members that have joined as multiyear members are eligible to apply for a General Travel Grant after six months of membership has elapsed.
  • Applicants must not have received one of the following Society grants in the two years before the closing date of the round applied to: General Travel Grants, International Sponsored Places or Travel Award for Skills and Knowledge.
